Kith Cafe

In this final part of the Singapore series I’d like to introduce the Kith Café, an unpretentious coffee shop overlooking the Singapore River. The purpose of the café is to provide a communal space where friends and acquaintances living in the neighborhood feel comfortable to walk in and experience a sense of kinship by the simple act of having a cup of coffee together.

Design philosophy

I love the fact that the designers kept the space true to the brand’s “keep it simple and sincere” philosophy through custom furniture, fuss-free suspended light bulbs, a chalkboard wall and open wrought iron shelves behind the counter. Each table, seat and bench for Kith is formed by hand layering plywood blocks which gives the look of a tree’s growth rings. The furniture can be moved around to change the configuration of the space and gives the café it’s distinct look.

A glimpse of the coffee and food

The coffee and treats look pretty yummy too…I look forward to visiting this place during my next visit to Singapore!
